Color solution to architectural blandness

The homeowners specifically requested a dark gray to update a tired color scheme. They described the house as having two back sides with no real entry. With these things in mind, we chose a nice gray with cream trim to anchor the home to the landscape and mute the bland facade. To finish, we kicked up the yellow-green a notch to attract more attention to the recessed (and shaded) front door.
Here's what the house looked like before (left) ...and after (right).

Color Reactions

October 10, 2007

I had the nicest call from a recent color consulting client - who just wanted to say how much he and his wife enjoyed the new exterior colors we chose for his home. His neighbor (who had referred him to me) was outside and commented how nice both of their home colors looked next to one another.

He was pleased that I was able to assess each person's color preferences and then fit them harmoniously into the neighborhood.
